A Thousand Thoughts ... A Thousand Tears

  • A girl about 12 years old is having relationship with a boy of 13. Why are children of today, or any day for that matter, not as simple and sensible as I am??
    "Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
    They're getting old and they need something good to rely on."
  • There are child labourings going on in Bangladesh, where children are risking their health and lives for 400-700 taka a month, while the well-off watch international news on their 175,000 taka LCD TV.
  • The rich man's burden.
  • My 16 year old cousin is miserable from friendship problems quite possibly because his father happens to be in the army.
  • I have the biggest dilemma of my life re pursuing knowledge vs working towards politics, and giving up one of them.
  • Fighting the biggest jihad of my life currently, and trying to heal a wound that has been exacerbated for 13 years.

Life becomes more and more unbearable every day, as more faults within myself and the world become apparent. The uncertainty of my own future, near and far, does not help. This blog, which started out on such a happy happy note, is now recording the thouhts of a "tortured soul".

No coward soul is mine,
No trembler in the world's storm-troubled sphere:
I see Heaven's glories shine,
And faith shines equal, arming me from fear.

O God within my breast,
Almighty, ever-present Deity!
Life--that in me has rest,
As I--undying Life--have power in thee!

Vain are the thousand creeds
That move men's hearts: unutterably vain;
Worthless as withered weeds,
Or idlest froth amid the boundless main,

To waken doubt in one
Holding so fast by thine infinity;
So surely anchored on
The stedfast rock of immortality.

With wide-embracing love
Thy spirit animates eternal years,
Pervades and broods above,
Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates, and rears.

Though earth and man were gone,
And suns and universes ceased to be,
And Thou were left alone,
Every existence would exist in Thee.

There is not room for Death,
Nor atom that his might could render void:
Thou--THOU art Being and Breath,
And what THOU art may never be destroyed
