IT IS A TRUTH universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. Never was this truth more plain than during the recent attacks at Netherfield Park, in which a household of eighteen was slaughtered and consumed by a horde of the living dead.
“My dear Mr. Bennet,” said his lady to him one day, “have you heard that Netherfield Park is occupied again?”
Mr. Bennet replied that he had not and went about his morning business of dagger sharpening and musket polishing—for attacks by theunmentionables had grown alarmingly frequent in recent weeks.
That’s not even remotely funny. ... There’s more to it?! ... A whole book?!!! “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”?!! ... and complete with illustration?!
I’ll stop questioning imaginary comments and come to the point. Well, just that, really. A book has come out in Borders Australia called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It appears that the entire book was written on the plot of Austen’s original work but with a background of zombie interference. To me it seems like a pretty sad project to take up by an author. It's a real waste of talent, asuming he has some. And it's worse to publish it, and worse yet to sell it in a well-known, well-respected bookstore. Why someone would go out of their way to ruin a reasonably good classic is beyond me.
